Sunday saw hopeful County 3 Amport take on County 1 Bramshaw in the first round of this year's Village KO Cup.

After losing the toss a fired up Amport took no prisoners as the openers bowled tightly to keep the runs at bay on a decent track. White (2-14) and Robertson (3-15) started the rot and with the last seven wickets falling for only 25 runs, Bramshaw ended on a far below par 102 all out.
Martin Startup (21) saw Amport off to a decent start having lost Bruen then Graham White (31) and Nick Bone (33) saw the innings through leaving Wayne Egglestone to hit the winning runs in the 19th over.
A comprehensive win sees Amport through to play Southern Premier League 3 side Hambledon this coming Sunday
Highfield v
Amport.
Amport kicked off their campaign with a narrow loss at Highfield.
Despite a cracking looking pitch skipper Alex Garman asked the home side to bat first in the humid conditions. Garman and Leighton Bone soon accounted for the openers, both falling to sharp slip catches by Nick Bone. However Wild (62) was having no trouble until Greg Pearce's sharp thinking left him stranded at the non-striker's end. Darren Goacher (4-26) turned things back in Amport's favour Highfield closing on 174.
Amport's top order struggled with the lack of pace but the middle order of Nick Bone (40) and Alex Garman (33) put them in a winning position. Highfield though had other ideas with Bone and Garman falling in quick succession. A tense finish was on the cards but Matt McCann (25no) ran out of partners 12 runs short.
Amport II
v Penton II.
Amport II got off to a goodstart with a comfortable nine wicket victory over Penton II.
Skipper Martin Startup put Penton in on a pitch that still retained a little moisture and they were never able to come to grips with an attack well led by Tom Startup 3-17 and Nigel Goddard 3-22. There was also two wickets in two balls for the skipper and a first league wicket for promising colt Ben Gardener.
A late flurry pushed the Penton score to 88 before they were dismissed in the 41st over.
Penton had an early sucess but from 6-1 Amport never looked back, with Neil Raynsford 35 no and Nigel Goddard 45 no sharing an unbroken partnership of 86 to see them home in just 17 overs with 23 points in the bag.
