CCTV plays a big role in the life of Julie Lane, who runs the Mayfly pub near Leckford. She says it is installed at the pub and can be used to tell when people are outside late at night.
"I THINK the elephant should stay with the circus, especially if she has been with them for 50 years," said 25-year-old Wan Phillips, who lives in Andover.
"AS long as the creatures are being looked after and are being well treated, I have no moral objections to animals being in the circus ring provided that when they leave the ring they have plenty of room to wander around and are not locked up and caged for long periods," said 48-year-old Mark Sullivan from Andover.
"I DON'T think animals being used in this way is acceptable but if the animal has been with them for all this time she had better stay," said Ludgershall's Frederick Marsh, who is aged 84.
"I WOULDN'T go to a circus that had lions and tigers as they are wild animals but elephants are able to work with man and can be domesticated like dogs," said Annette Christy from Hurstbourne Tarrant.
