Pensioner killed in M3 lorry crash named
A MAN killed in a serious accident on the M3 this morning (Thursday, July 26) has been named as Ronald Collins, of Westfield Road, Basingstoke.
The 73-year-old, who was driving a blue Proton car, died following a collision with a lorry between junctions eight and nine of the northbound carriageway at around 3.50am.
He suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry, a 59-year-old man from Portsmouth, was shaken but uninjured.
The stretch of motorway was closed for around eight hours while police officers investigated the scene.
