Shoppers evacuated after false alarm

HUNDREDS of shoppers were today evacuated from WestQuay in Southampton after a false fire alarm.

The alarm went off at Phones 4 U in Above Bar Street, which is linked to the WestQuay complex, causing part of the shopping centre to be evacuated.

The incident happened shortly before midday and WestQuay fully re-opened shortly after 12.30pm.
