Village centre gets £20,000 boost
A SCHEME to enhance North Baddesley village centre has been given a £20,000 cash boost.
Hampshire's cabinet member for the environment Mel Kendal has approved the Fleming Avenue Shopping Arcade scheme which includes installing new seating, planting projects, more lighting, better parking facilities and give other street furniture a lick of paint. The scheme has been developed under the Country Towns Initiative.
Test Valley Borough Council is organising the work and it is contributing cash towards the improvements.
Hampshire's deputy leader Roy Perry who is also chairman of the county's Test Valley HAT team welcomed the grant.
Mr Perry said: "This is another example of good co-operation between Test Valley and Hampshire helping to improve the environment. Enhancing our quality of place is one of HCC's key objectives. One of the risks identified with the scheme was previous antisocial behaviour but I am confident with partnership working again, between the local authorities and the police, this problem is now greatly reduced. I can however, only appeal to all concerned to respect the new planting and street furniture when it is installed."

Would Mellow Wellow Wallow and Tripe do such a job for nothing? It better than Mrs Gidley after she couldn't turn upto TVBC meetings for nearly two years because she had a job at Westminster to go to. How much money did that cost?
