Spectacular show marks fire service milestone
THE Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service HQ is hosting its annual show, this year commemorating its 60th anniversary, on Sunday, July 6.
The free event will take place in Leigh Road, Eastleigh, from 10am to 5pm and it will feature a wide range of events, including live fire-fighting and rescue displays, safety demonstrations and a performance from the service's rescue dogs.
There will be many activities for all the family, including face-painting, fairground attractions and the chance for children to have their bikes and cycling skills checked, free of charge, by the service.
The grand finale to this year's show will be a parade of both new and preserved fire trucks, from 3pm, culminating in a display of 60 jets of water to mark the landmark anniversary. Deputy chief fire officer, Alan House, said: "This year's show promises to be the best yet, an entertaining day that really offers something for the family."
