A WALK-IN thief made off with a laptop worth nearly £400 from inside a North Baddesley man's home while he was in the garden.
Police say the homeowner was gardening at the front of property in Hoe Lane when the burglar struck last Friday. The missing Fujitsu Amilo laptop was left on a sofa in the victim's lounge when it went disappeared sometime between 11.15am and 12.15pm.
Officers are appealing for members of the public who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area before the theft or is offered the laptop, which had a black base and silver lid, to contact them at Romsey police station on 0845-045-4545. Alternatively ring Southern Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
