I wonder whether Test Valley council has considered raising the car parking charges for those hefty 4x4 vehicles.
Many of them seem merely to be personality enhancers never having been farther off the road than Tesco car park.
They do, after all, occupy large spaces in the car parks, tower over and threaten those of us with proper cars and do little to conserve energy or preserve the environment. I am sure their owners would not mind this small gesture for their rather self-indulgent means of transport. One envisages, of course, exemption for farmers, smallholders and other essential users whose vehicles are recognisable because they are dirty and clearly acquainted with muddy paths,
