| Dance classes: Youngsters from eight to 13 with Jenny Rooney and Sarah Hughes from Platform School of Dance. |
A WEEK long series of sessions from Winchester-based dance instructors at The Platform School of Dance led to centre stage at Andover's Pheonix Centre.
Youngsters trained at the centre teamed up with the group from King Arthur's Way Hall for the performance on Friday.
The training sessions, part of the Turnaround Project, were organised by Mags Todd the neighbourhood activity co-ordinator for Test Valley Community Services.
"We had a minimum of 14 and a maximum of 26 children aged between eight and 13 at the sessions in King Arthur's Way. They have worked really, really hard over the week," she said.
"They learned four different dance routines which were drawn from street dance, musicals and jazz.
"It was great to see their confidence grow since the first day when several came in a bit unsure of themselves and said I can't dance'.
"We were pleased with the turnout. You can put on a really good show with 14."
