A PLANNING inspector has derailed a popular wedding reception venue at the former Horsebridge Station - but the owner hopes to fight on.
Test Valley Borough Council planners last year refused planning permission for owner Mrs Val Charrington to erect a marquee for four months of the year.
She launched an appeal in a bid to get the scheme back on track but now the inspector has upheld the council's refusal.
The inspector called the marquee an alien structure in the neat garden of a former Victorian railway station'.
And he argued that the limited close views cause tangible harm to the character and appearance of this especially attractive countryside'.
Mrs Charrington, who has stopped taking bookings, said she was consulting with her planning advisor to see what action she could take now.
"I am not giving up straight away.
"I will be looking at the situation with my planning consultants," she said.
