Youth development in the Andover Wheelers is proving a great success with early season results at all age levels giving the youngsters a good start at both local and national level.

Sixteen-year old Max Webber has won five out of his last six races which has left him in third place overall in the south region and seventh place overall in the national rankings of the youth A riders. Tom Bolton has only just started to compete at this level also but has done well and is ninth overall in the south region.

Seven-year old Alex Foster has shown that he has a good future by winning his first three races leaving him in an excellent eighth place overall nationally. Elder sister Emily has also started well with a string of good placings that has left her in first place overall in the south region and eighth U12 girl in the national rankings.

Eleven-year old Cameron Thompson has continued where he left off last season in the U12s by winning three out of four races which has taken him up to 16th place nationally and joint seventh overall in the south. Also at U12 level, Jed Webber has started well with some good placings and a couple of wins to leave him tied with Cameron in the south rankings and 13th in the national rankings.

Twelve-year old Mitchell Webber has just moved up to U14 level and is racing well against boys up to two years older than him. Consistent results have propelled him to an excellent second overall in the south region and he is currently in 21st place nationally.

With all these young riders doing so well, a bright future for the club is assured and new riders are always welcome.
